  1. The version 1.4.3 is released and supposed to solve the IOException issues, but according with Razvan M. it seems that there are still problems.

I'll investigate them as soon as possible - Cheers!

  2. It doesn't work on my Vista Laptop. It won't accept information prior to today's date such as weekly payments into an account. If I give it forward payments in, it changes the first one to another date e.g four 11thNov2010 - the first goes to 1stNov2010. If I export some of my efforts it wont input them again from a clean version - so I cannot download a bank statement, modify it to your format and then input it. ALL IN ALL a great disappointment!

  3. Thank you for trying Money On Thread and writing your feedback, which will help me to improve the application.

    * Indeed, there is a small issue in the "action editor": the day is reset to 1 when you change the month. I've already fixed this for the next version 1.5.0.

    * You can add transactions with date before and/or after "today", you have to change the year, month or day lists.

    * If you want to add multiple instances of the same activity/transaction you have to click on the "multiple instances" box, and select your periodicity and count (see here).

    * Import CSV was supporting only the MOT format, but since the next version 1.5.0, Money on Thread supports the bank or credit-card formats too.

    * New import formats were added (ASO and QBO), but I've tested only against my banks, so it's possible that for other banks to fail, due to small changes in the format -- So, if you have a problem, please send me a testing file (with fake numbers) that will help me to fix the code!

    Cheers!

  4. I have version 1.6.0. It was working perfectly on Windows 7 64-bit...until I upgraded to Service Pack 1, now the program won't load. The splash screen appears for a few seconds then disappears. After that, nothing. Any ideas?

  5. Can you download again the version 1.6 and have a try, please? Did you installed a new Java version?

If it's still not working then I have to prepare a debug version to figure out what's wrong. Waiting for your reply...

    Cheers!

  7. The version 1.6.1 produces a log file. So, you can check the MOT.log file from under folder (Win 7 & Vista: C:\Users\[your-user]\MOT\logs, or for Win XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[your-user]\MOT\logs) and email it to me at moneyonthread@free.fr ?

    Cheers!

  9. It would be great if you could select a date when you use the archive feature. For example if you could select the 1st day of the current month or yesterdays date, as you may not want to archive everything upto and including the current date.

  10. Good idea; actually, I think if we can select the end of the archive interval, it wolud be better than the first day of the month, isn't it?

I'll implement this new feature for the next version -- Cheers!

  11. The archiving date can be selected now. Try it with the MOT beta version 1.6.3 !

    Cheers!

  12. Hi, Is there a way to add more categories?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Can we add a budget value to the categories so we can compare expense in that category against the actual expense, maybe on a monthly basis?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yes, you can add new categories, as you want.

    Read this page: http://money-on-thread-help.blogspot.com/2010/01/23-menu-tools.html

    down to the "Configuration" section.

  17. Love the program. Very easy to use and very useful.

My only feedback is I would like the Categories pie-chart to reflect disposable or left over cash in place of total income on the chart.

    Thanks!

  18. Sorry for the late answer, but I was too busy with Cool Movie Browser. Now, that's pretty stable, I will come back to this tool to enhance and continue development.

    Cheers!

  19. Icant open my profile. Error says [ERROR ] : File Read Error : C:\Users\Chris Brian\MOT\MoneyOnThread.xml
Can't read XML file: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 1; columnNumber: 1; Content is not allowed in prolog.

  20. Found this site and program and it looks good but there are several bugs.

    1) Can't change initial date to earlier date.

    2) The program has a glitch where if I move mouse cursor it causes the program to show windows inside the program matching the program screen. ( It happens a lot so I cant do much as it shows many windows inside the program. Have to close program and open again but the issue starts again at various times.

My system is windows 8.1 64bit if that matters.
If items fixed I would be very happy with the program.

    Thanks
    Fred
